Pushing Under The Influence

JULY 27--Meet Kaylyn Kezy and Melissa Fredenburg. The Indiana women were busted early Friday morning and charged with drunk driving after Fredenburg's Impala hit a parked car outside a Portage motel. Nothing too unusual with that, except neither Kezy (pictured below left) nor Fredenburg was behind the wheel when the crash occurred. The Chevy had broken down and Kezy, 34, was pushing it while Fredenburg, 32, steered from the passenger seat (not too well, as it turned out). After they dinged a '92 Chrysler, cops arrived on the scene and discovered that the duo appeared tipsy. Both women failed subsequent breath tests, registering identical .17 blood alcohol contents (more than twice the state's legal limit). Kezy and Fredenburg were charged with misdemeanor DUI, since, cops contend, they both were operating the vehicle. After posing for the below mug shots at the Porter County Jail, both women posted bail and were released. (2 pages)
