OCTOBER 13--This is the letter sent last month to Fox Television executives informing them that a female colleague of Bill O'Reilly was contemplating a bombshell sexual harassment lawsuit against the talk show host. The letter from New York lawyer Benedict Morelli--which does not identify O'Reilly or accuser Andrea Mackris by name--alleges that the "O'Reilly Factor" host subjected her to "constant and relentless" harassment, which included calls to the woman's home and "constant...innuendo." As for those brackets and missing words on the letter, we're trying to determine whether they were included in the original Morelli letter or reflect redactions done by O'Reilly prior to including the September 29 document as an exhibit to his complaint. In a preemptive strike, O'Reilly today filed a lawsuit against Morelli and Backris, claiming that they were trying to extort $60 million in hush money from him in return for quashing their proposed harassment complaint.
