We don't know how Sean "Puffy" Combs does it. The rap impresario holds
down so many jobs--recording star, producer, restaurateur, clothing
designer, mack daddy--that we get tired just looking at his resume. In
fact, the 29-year-old also claims to have worked full-time for Daddy's
House Social Programs, the not-for-profit children's group he founded
in 1995. In return for these efforts, Combs paid himself $50,000,
according to the organization's tax return for 1997, the most recent
year for which records are available. Sure, it's unheard of for a
celebrity to earn money from a not-for-profit, but Combs is an
extraordinary fellow (he's so suave that he just got busted for
beating somebody up with a Champagne bottle!). Compared to Puffy's
reported 40-hour work weeks, Danny DeVito, Michael Douglas, and
Stephen King--all of whom go uncompensated--look like slackers when it
comes to the time they devote to their charitable foundations. (5 pages)
