OUCH: David Gest still reeling from Minnelli beatings

FEBRUARY 27--A California dimwit was arrested yesterday on charges of threatening to kill both the woman who has accused Kobe Bryant of rape and the Colorado prosecutor handling the case. Cedric Augustine, 37, was named in the below federal indictment charging him with 26 felonies, including attempted extortion and making interstate threats. Augustine allegedly left phone messages for Eagle County District Attorney Mark Hurlbert warning that, "If anything happen to Kobe Bryant...we gonna shoot your ass." In other messages, Augustine--who at times said he was affiliated with the Mexican Mafia--claimed to have the victim's address and warned that the woman and her family would be murdered. The indictment, filed in U.S. District Court in Colorado, includes transcriptions of Augustine's numerous threatening message as well as a letter sent to Hurlbert last September. (17 pages)
