| | A couple of weeks ago, newspapers reported that figure
skater Oksana Baiul, who "beat" Nancy Kerrigan for the gold medal at the
1992 Winter Olympics, had decided to move from the sleepy Connecticut town
where she lives and trains. We only took note of
this because Baiul, who turns 20 in November, would like to relocate to
New York City, which The Smoking Gun happens to call home. Our concern, as
pedestrians and occasional motorists, is that the Ukrainian ice queen
likes
to drive fast, real fast. And on one occasion, her tank was full, if you
get our drift. Here's the Connecticut arrest warrant filed when Baiul was
busted earlier this year for driving under the influence. The skater, who
was doing 97 mph in a 45 mph zone before she crashed her new
Mercedes, settled criminal charges by agreeing to enroll in an alcohol
education program. (3 pages)
