Responding to Stacey Stillman's legal claim that last
year's "Survivor" was rigged, producer Mark Burnett
fired back Tuesday (2/20), slapping the ex-contestant
with a blistering $5 million countersuit that charges
Stillman with waging a "campaign of falsehoods,
extortion and contract violations." As first reported
by Inside.com's Beth Pinsker, this Los Angeles
Superior Court lawsuit claims that Stillman, a San
Francisco lawyer, tried to extort money from CBS and
Burnett's SEG, Inc. by threatening to "generate
national publicity about her false allegations unless
she was paid off." On February 5, Stillman filed this
lawsuit against Burnett and CBS. (13 pages)
Stillman wasted no time responding to Burnett's lawsuit, as this MP3 of her new answering machine message shows.
