Look, TSG doesn't want to say we told you so, but
we've been reporting--for nearly a year--that the top
secret invention code named Ginger (a/k/a "IT")
appeared to be a fancy schmancy scooter, based on our
review of U.S. and international patent applications
filed by inventor Dean Kamen. Now that the
self-balancing gizmo, called the Segway, has been
unveiled on "Good Morning America," it turns out the
paper trail has again proved prescient. While Kamen
has just presented the basic "personal mobility
vehicle," the following drawings of other concept
models, which we found in various patent filings, are
far more intriguing. Our favorite is the Tony Hawk
model on page two. (7 pages)
Video: Amazingly, this scooter never caught on. Join TSG's mailing list. Have we mentioned our new book?
