With summer now officially here, your sweaty pals at
TSG offer this cool lawsuit just filed in New York
federal court. A quintet of music publishing firms is
suing Florida businessman Scott Gordon and his Party
on Parody Productions (POPP) for violating their
copyrights on some famous holiday songs. Gordon
distributes the "Rated X Mas" album, which offers blue
versions of standards like "Jingle Bell Rock." In this
lawsuit excerpt, the peeved publishers detail how
their tunes have been hijacked--and how poor Santa,
Rudolph, and Frosty have been maligned. (9 pages)
Mike Tyson goes wild in Scotland? Imagine that!
