Farked: New York Yankee phenom Chamberlain was mug shot subject

APRIL 3--So who was the public figure who posed for the (previously unseen) mug shot?

Well, during the contest's first couple of hours, most entrants were stumped. Rod Blagojevich, Robert Downey Jr., John Mayer, Adam Sandler, and "Girls Gone Wild" founder Joe Francis topped the list of vote getters.

And then our friends at Fark.com--for the second week in a row--intervened. One Fark sleuth ("Redwing") discovered a photo of the arrestee in the exact same sweater he is seen wearing in the October 2008 mug shot. That photo, taken in November 2008, is at right.

The discovery triggered hundreds of correct "guesses" identifying New York Yankees pitching phenom Joba Chamberlain as the perp in question. Chamberlain, 23, pleaded guilty this week in a Lincoln, Nebraska court to a drunk driving charge.

We'll pick five names from among the avalanche of correct entries, and those contestants will each get a DVD copy of the soon-to-be-released movie "The Wrestler." And we guarantee that next week's "Friday Photo Fun" contest will be Farkproof. We hope.
