Mug shot roundup celebrates the half-century mark of our 50th state

AUGUST 21--To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Hawaii's admission to the Union--which occurred on this date in 1959--this week's mug shot roundup kicks off with a dozen gents arrested while wearing some island finery. As for the other booking photos, just a couple of notes: 1) The Texas man, 30, on page #3 was busted yesterday for possession of drug paraphernalia and other charges; and 2) The 32-year-old suspect on page #13 was collared twice this week for public intoxication. He had shaved in time for his second photo session with a sheriff in Utah, the 45th state. (14 pages)
