Iowa Cops Seek Suspect Who Defaced Obama 2012 Banner With "Muslim Lier" Graffiti

Iowa cops are looking for a spelling-challenged vandal who defaced a banner outside the Obama campaign’s headquarters in Des Moines by spray-painting the words “Muslim Lier.”

The graffiti was added to a “large Obama 2012 blue sign” hanging outside campaign headquarters on Hubbell Avenue, according to a Des Moines Police Department report.

A police evidence photo (click to enlarge) of the defaced Obama 2012 banner can be seen above.

“The liar was not spelled correctly sprayed on the sign,” the size of which police estimated as “at least 16x8 feet.” The Obama sign was defaced with red paint sometime between late Wednesday night and 10 AM Thursday morning.

Jonathon Rowland, an Obama campaign worker, told cops that he had observed a similar anti-Obama message days earlier near the state fairgrounds, but that “it had been recently cleaned up.”

Rowland, who requested an extra police patrol of the area, estimated damage to the sign at $500. Two weeks ago, Rowland tweeted a photo (as seen here) showing the sign being hung outside the campaign office.
