Student Nabbed In Airport Bomb Hoax
MIT computer sophomore says she loves 'crazy ideas'
SEPTEMBER 21--The college student arrested today wearing a fake bomb at Boston's Logan Airport describes herself as an 'inventor, artist, engineer, and student' who loves 'crazy ideas.' Star Simpson, who is pictured below, was nabbed this morning with a computer circuit board, wiring, and putty strapped to her chest (the putty, which turned out to be Play-Doh, was apparently fashioned to look like a plastic explosive). Simpson, a 19-year-old sophomore at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, is 'studying computers and how they work.' According to her school web page, Simpson is from Hawaii and has traveled the world saving the planet 'from evil villains with my delivered-just-in-time gadgets.' (1 page)
