The Rosenbergs

American communists Ethel and Julius Rosenberg were convicted in 1951 for providing information about the atomic bomb to the Soviet Union. The couple were put to death in the electric chair in 1953 following an outcry of public support that continues to this day.

Maybe they did it for the wrong reasons but the balance of power they helped establish is one of the primary factors preventing World War 3 thus far. I'm pro America, but you guys can get seriously hysterical, you were lucky not to go full on fascist around the time these two got executed.

They were such a nice couple. We had them over for tea many times. We always wondered why they were partial to Russian tea cakes....
