Before plummeting to his death from a Brooklyn hotel window in 1941, hoodlum Abe Reles was preparing to testify against some of his old Murder, Inc. cronies. As the picture shows, Abe--who was supposedly being guarded by cops--never made it to the witness stand. Whether he was pushed, fell, or jumped remains a Gotham mystery.
