On July 11, 1994 Stern filed this new voter registration card with Nassau County officials, claiming that his home address had changed. Supposedly, Howard had moved into a small fixer-upper in the none-too-exclusive Plainview section of Long Island. The new digs (valued at about $200,000) were quite a step down for Howard, whose Old Westbury manor sat on three acres and cost him $1.24 million.
