From the celebrity police blotter:
1) As you might have heard, Tonya Harding got popped this weekend on a DUI charge in Washington. The former skating champion (and noted hubcap tosser) was busted early Saturday morning after running her truck into a ditch. Police responding to the one-car accident caught a whiff of "a strong odor of intoxicants coming from her breath," and a subsequent field sobriety test recorded a .16 blood alcohol level (twice the state limit of .08 ). Here's the Clark County Sheriff's report on the Harding DUI, a document memorializing poor Tonya's attempt to recite the alphabet beyond the letter "t." (3 pages)
2) Click here for the brief Seattle Police Department incident report describing Friday's (4/19) discovery of the body of Layne Staley, former lead singer of Alice in Chains. Staley, who apparently had died in his apartment days earlier, was "found lying on the couch obviously deceased." The 34-year-old performer has long battled drug addiction. (2 pages)
