A Ginger/IT Update

When TSG first posted the patent drawings of what might be Ginger/IT, we whooped at the prospect of riding one of those beauties.When TSG first posted the patent drawings of what might be Ginger/IT, we whooped at the prospect of riding one of those beauties. Now, along with the scooters and skateboards, it looks like Dean Kamen's "personal mobility" fleet includes a chariot, of all things. Over the past 18 months, Kamen companies have filed trademark applications for the terms Akros, Acros, and Flywheel (the owner of which is listed as the Wile E. Coyotesque Acme Manufacturing). In each application, the goods and services to be covered by the desired trademark are described as "motorized, self-propelled, wheeled personal mobility aids, namely wheelchairs, scooters, carts, and chariots." Charlton Heston must be psyched! Along with the TM applications, Kamen's DEKA Research & Development Corporation has also recently been buying up URLs.And, according to registration records, it seems that Kamen's vehicles will be powered (as many have speculated) by some modified version of a Stirlingengine. The URLs acquired by Kamen--most of which were registered in early-February--include:

* Flywheels.com * Flywheels.org * Mystirlingscooter.com * Stirlingscooter.com * Stirlingscooter.net * Stirlingscooter.org * and Stirlingelectric. (3 pages)
