Former New York cop Justin Volpe was sentenced today (12/13) to 30 years in jail for his vicious 1997 station house assault of Haitian immigrant Abner Louima. Volpe, whose guilty plea exposed him to life in prison, and Louima both addressed the court prior to federal judge Eugene Nickerson announcing his sentence.
