Cops: Student Put Rubbing Alcohol In School Coffee
Teen spiked pot used by his Kansas teachers
DECEMBER 12--A Kansas middle school student yesterday morning poured rubbing alcohol into a coffee pot from which an educator later drank, according to cops.
The 14-year-old pupil at Wichita’s Hamilton Middle School was arrested for aggravated battery and criminal threats and transported to the county juvenile detention facility.
The teenager allegedly spiked the coffee around 8:45 AM Thursday. The male victim, 58, subsequently poured himself a cup from the pot and sipped the coffee. The man then realized the coffee tasted strange, and did not swallow the beverage.
The coffee pot was reserved for teachers at the school, said a police spokesperson.
The victim did not require medical treatment, cops reported. (1 page)
