Busted Grandma, 68, Called 911 For "Police Assistance In Getting A Beer"

A Tennessee grandmother was arrested Wednesday night after she called 911 “for police assistance in getting a beer,” cops report.

According to a criminal complaint, 68-year-old Rosie Pate dialed 911 after her granddaughter “wouldn’t buy her a beer.” Following that refusal, Pate “became angry and slapped” her kin.

When interviewed by officers at her Memphis home, Pate reportedly admitted that after striking her granddaughter she “dialed 911 for police assistance in getting a beer.”

In addition to being charged with misusing the 911 system, Pate was also hit with a domestic violence count for slapping her relative. Pate, pictured in the adjacent mug shot, was booked into the county jail, from which she was released yesterday.

Pate was scheduled to be arraigned today on the misdemeanor charges.
