Barry Bonds Doping Calendars

FEBRUARY 4--The criminal case against Barry Bonds came into sharper focus today as a federal judge unsealed documents that prosecutors want admitted into evidence against the former baseball star.

As seen on these pages, included among the unsealed records are what government lawyers contend are monthly calendars that Bonds and his trainer Greg Anderson used to chart the athlete's use of performance-enhancing drugs distributed by the Bay Area Laboratory Co-Operative (BALCO). The calendars contain the initials 'BB' and 'BLB,' which investigators believe refer to Barry Lamar Bonds.

The calendars, seized from Anderson during the execution of a search warrant at his home, contain notations for 'cream' and 'clear,' apparent references to the two designer steroids for which BALCO became notorious. (14 pages)
