The FBI is reportedly probing whether illegal kickbacks were paid during Bob Dole's 1996 presidential campaign (and you thought Team Clinton had cornered the funny money market). Seems that this memo, apparently authored by an in-the-know Republican, has caught the bureau's eye.
According to a Village Voice story, the FBI is examining whether campaign officials illegally received payments from media consultants hired to work for Dole. (3 pages)
