Brits Release UFO Sighting Documents

We love kooky UFO stories, so TSG salutes the British government's release this week of its files on the sighting--by U.S. Air Force officers, no less--of a brilliantly lit object landing in an English forest in December 1980. The incident, which reportedly occurred in the Rendlesham Forest in eastern England, is considered the U.K. equivalent of the supposed landing of an alien spacecraft in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947. What follows are a few memos from the British file, including the key Air Force memo describing how U.S. military officers spotted a "strange glowing object" that "illuminated the entire forest with a white light." The triangular, metallic object "had a pulsing red light on top and a bank of blue lights underneath. The object was hovering or on legs." (3 pages)
