Iowa City Walmart

APRIL 4--An Iowa man accused of exposing himself to an 11-year-old girl he trailed through a Walmart toy aisle called cops and asked that a store surveillance photo of him be removed from the police department’s Facebook page, according to a criminal complaint.

The lewd act, investigators say, occurred four months ago at a Walmart Supercenter in Iowa City. The child told cops that an adult followed her in the store and, when she looked over at the man, his genitals were exposed and he was masturbating.

Walmart security video, cops say, showed the man “following the victim out of the toy aisle just before the victim reported the incident to her mother and store employees.”

In seeking the public’s help in identifying the alleged pervert, Iowa City cops subsequently posted an image from the video (seen at right) showing the suspect inside Walmart.

After this picture appeared on the Iowa City Police Department’s Facebook page, Dustin Hills, 44, “called in to request his photo be removed” from the social networking site. The complaint does not indicate when the call was made or if Hills identified himself by name.

Police, of course, did not grant the wanted man’s wish to delete the evidence.

Hills was arrested yesterday and charged with indecent exposure, an aggravated misdemeanor for which he is locked up in lieu of $5000 bond.

According to court records, Hills’s rap sheet includes a 2014 conviction for indecent exposure, as well as convictions for theft, narcotics possession, probation violation, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

In the earlier indecent exposure case, a woman spotted Hills “displaying his penis and pleasuring himself while standing in a nearby apartment window.” Hills, cops reported, “admitted accidentally displaying his erect penis to others outside.” He “claimed to be on an adult website at the time of the second incident.”

Hills resides in West Branch, an Iowa city about 15 miles from the Walmart. (1 page)
