OCTOBER 7--A check of the TSG archive will turn up stories about almost every crime imaginable, from murder to parrot microwaving. Until today, however, we had never come across anyone getting arrested for moonshining. So we'd like you to meet Alton Junior Moran and Daryle Wayne Johnson. The two southern Virginia men were arrested this week when investigators raided their hooch operation, which was housed in a shed just north of the North Carolina border. Along with an old still, agents found more than 300 gallons of moonshine in plastic containers. Moran, 70, and Johnson, 31, were hit with a felony count for manufacturing booze without a license.
