UPDATE: Graphic preliminary hearing transcript just posted
JULY 18--Two weeks after Kobe Bryant's arrest for felony sexual assault, prosecutors today announced that the NBA star has been formally charged in connection with an alleged attack on a 19-year-old employee of a ritzy Colorado lodge. Eagle County District Attorney Mark Hurlbert told reporters that, if convicted of the Class 3 felony, the 24-year-old Los Angeles Lakers star could face between four years and life in prison. Below you'll find a copy of the criminal complaint charging Bryant with the alleged sex attack. In a statement released by Bryant's agents, the athlete asserted that, "I am innocent of the charges filed today. I did not assault the woman who is accusing me. I made the mistake of adultery. I have to answer to my wife and my God for my actions that night and I pray that both will forgive me. Nothing that happened June 30th was against the will of the woman who now falsely accuses me."
