Moussaoui Prepares Quiz For Ashcroft

MAY 2--In a newly unsealed motion, al-Qaeda member Zacarias Moussaoui challenges Attorney General John Ashcroft to take a multiple choice quiz the accused terrorist has dubbed the "9/11 lottery case." Apparently prompted by his belief that government prosecutors have flip-flopped on their theory of the criminal case, Moussaoui crafted a four choice tear-out "coupon" that he asked Judge Leonie Brinkema to forward to Ashcroft. Included on the second page of the below filing, Moussaoui gives Ashcroft a chance to identify the government's "incompetent" theory behind its indictment of the lone person charged in the September 11 attacks. Choices include Moussaoui acting as the so-called 20th hijacker, the pilot of a fifth kamikaze airplane, and "I, Ashcroft don't know." Moussaoui concludes his April 19 motion with the notation that his quiz comes with a first prize: "1st class seat at Zacarias Moussaoui execution." He adds, however, "only JOKING, it is not going to happen." (2 pages)
