Knight Loses Castle

JUNE 22--Music fans with $6.2 million to spare now have the opportunity to purchase bankrupt rap impresario Marion "Suge" Knight's Malibu estate, which sits on an 8.9 acre knoll above the Pacific Ocean.

As we've previously reported, Knight, 42, is in the midst of a Chapter 11 proceeding and is being forced to liquidate assets to pay off creditors. As such, his seven-bedroom, nine-and-a-half bathroom mansion has just been listed for sale by a Malibu broker.

The gated Knight spread, at 3229 Rambla Pacifico Street, is perched above the exclusive Carbon and La Costa beaches and offers "wide ocean views from luxurious rooms with soaring ceilings," according to a realtor's listing (an aerial photo of the property can be found here).

While the description notes that the estate's sale has to be approved by a bankruptcy court, it does not identify Knight as the property's owner. Though the purchase price "does not include any personal property," it appears the buyer will be getting Knight's former pool table, which is covered in red felt. The Death Row Records founder, of course, has long been affiliated with the Bloods street gang, members of which dress in red, the group's official color.

On the following pages you'll find a dozen photos of the Knight property, which was built in 2000. And, no, that's not the balcony off which poor Vanilla Ice was dangled by the ankles. (4 pages)
