Breast Adjustment Doc Suspended

OCTOBER 19--A Michigan chiropractor has had his license suspended after state investigators charged that he fondled two teenagers after telling the girls that their breasts were "uneven" and in need of adjustment.

In a complaint filed by the state's Department of Community Health (a copy of which you'll find here), Robert Moore is accused of negligence and lack of moral character in connection with his care of the teens, both of whom worked for him at TLC Chiropractic.

The girls, aged 16 and 17 at the time of the 2003-2004 treatments, gave investigators detailed accounts of how Moore, 40, pawed them. Both noted that, as a condition of employment, Moore (pictured at left) told them that they would have to submit to "spinal adjustments at the beginning and end of each work shift."

According to the state complaint, which led to Moore's suspension earlier this month, he also improperly billed the health insurance of one girl's father for his "chiropractic services."

Triggered by the health department's charges, the Genesee County prosecutor is weighing criminal charges against Moore, who has yet to formally respond to the state charges. (11 pages)
