Inmate Quizzed In Chandra Levy Case
A man who pleaded guilty last year to assaulting two women in Rock Creek Park is now being questioned in connection with the disappearance of Chandra Levy, whose remains were found yesterday (5/22) in that Washington, D.C. park. As first reported by Roll Call (and detailed in the below Superior Court filing), Ingmar Guandeque, 21, attacked women on two separate occasions, with the first assault occuring in mid-May, just two weeks after Levy's disappearance. The second assault took place six weeks later. In February, Guandeque--who was also popped for a May 2001 burglary--was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the park attacks. At the time, a D.C. judge described his behavior as "predatory." (8 pages)
