As if you needed another reason to avoid holiday travel, Virginia cops today (12/26) arrested a Delta Airlines pilot who allegedly was under the influence as he prepared to fly a Delta Airlines jet to Cincinnati. After removing co-pilot Gary Alan Schroeder from the plane's cockpit, Norfolk International Airport cops administered a Breathalyzer test and discovered Schroeder's blood alcohol level was .07, nearly twice the .04 legal limit for pilots. According to this police report, the 42-year-old Virginia man was issued a summons for "pilot under the influence of alcohol." (2 pages)
These pilots were celebrating that holiday called "happy hour."
