"Obnoxious" Shirtless Florida Karaoke Singer Allegedly Assaults Applebee’s Employee

An "obnoxious" karaoke performer who decided to go topless for the late-night crowd at a Florida Applebee’s was arrested yesterday after he allegedly assaulted the restaurant’s manager.

According to a Melbourne Police Department probable cause affidavit, Jeffrey Thompson was acting “loud and obnoxious” and “took his shirt off while inside singing karaoke” when he was asked to leave by the manager. As he was being escorted out of the eatery, Thompson, 28, punched the manager in the face, knocking him unconscious.

Thompson, pictured in the above mug shot, was charged with battery and disorderly conduct and remains locked up in the Brevard County jail on $750 bond.

While the police report does not identify the song Thompson was performing when he decided to strip off his shirt, it does prove--along with the arrest of this Ohio man, these Connecticut women, this Wisconsin man, and this Seattle woman--that karaoke is far from harmless fun.
