"Dark Lord" Cops To Urinating On, Burning Bible
Arizonan busted wearing pentagram, black robe
AUGUST 29--An Arizona man wearing a pentagram necklace and calling himself the “Dark Lord” was arrested yesterday after allegedly setting fire to a Bible and then urinating on it outside of a rescue mission, cops report.
Prescott Police Department officers were summoned to the Gospel Rescue Mission around 9 PM by a worker who reported that “a man was burning something on the front step of the mission.”
When cops arrived, they encountered Eric Minerault, 22, standing on the mission’s steps. “He was dressed in black and was wearing a long, black and red robe and a pentagram necklace,” reported police, who added, “The officers noticed a Bible, which was wet and appeared to have been burnt, on the ground near Mr. Minerault.”
Minerault is pictured at right in a police evidence photo taken outside the mission.
During questioning, Minerault reportedly copped to burning and urinating on the Bible. While “cursing the Christians,” Minerault said that he chose the mission for the Good Book burning because he believed it was a “place of Christian worship.”
Asked why he defiled the Bible, Minerault explained that he was the “Dark Lord.”
Charged with unlawful symbol burning, Minerault was booked into the Yavapai County Detention Center on the misdemeanor charge. (1 page)
