Speeding Camaro

APRIL 12--The 20-year-old motorist who was recently caught going 199 mph on a Florida roadway has copped to a reckless driving charge, according to court records.

Luis Lozano-Figueroa entered a no contest plea to the misdemeanor count during a court hearing last week. He was ordered to pay about $900 in fines and court fees, and will have to complete a 12-hour “aggressive driving” class.

Lozano-Figueroa was arrested in January when cops spotted a red 2016 Chevrolet Camaro engaging in a 1 AM street race along the Florida Turnpike in Orange County. Lozano-Figueroa was driving the vehicle, and there were two passengers in the souped-up ride (a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old).

The posted speed limit was 70 mph.

When police searched the vehicle (seen above), they found an Insta360 X3 action camera with a mounting stick inside the car, which is registered to Lozano-Figueroa’s father (Lozano-Figueroa lives with his parents in St. Cloud, an Orlando suburb).

Citing a “mounted bracket” on the Camaro’s rear window, cops concluded that the camera was used “to capture videos for Luis’ Instagram: trulyyluis.” The car’s license plate is “TRLYY.”

Lozano-Figueroa's Instagram page includes photos of the Camaro, vacation snaps from Paris and Rome, and it identifies him as a “Licensed insurance producer” with a Globe Life subsidiary. Florida state records show that Lozano-Figueroa (pictured at right) was licensed last year to sell life, health, and accident insurance.

Lozano-Figueroa, however, is not qualified to sell auto insurance. (2 pages)
