An Ohio jury last Thursday (8/9) acquitted former Boy Scout leader/S&M aficionado Kevin Erwin of rape, kidnapping, and assault charges stemming from a kinky extramarital relationship. Jurors apparently bought Erwin's claim that the couple's dominant-submissive bedroom behavior--which gave rise to the criminal counts--was consensual. To bolster this contention, Erwin's lawyer presented notes and e-mail exchanged by the pair (the attorney had previously filed this bizarre slave "contract" with the court). Here's a sampling of Erwin's strange correspondence. As for those pet names, "Azure" refers to the woman's eye color, while Erwin's "IMAS" handle is short for "I am as I am." (4 pages)
